Portfolio

Image
This is my final portfolio for FMX 210. I created the pages on InDesign and had a lot of fun planning it out and executing it. I love the color scheme and wanted to follow the tropical mood. This class was very hard at times, it is no easy A. But when you make the Hall of Fame and get an A on an assignment you feel beyond accomplished. I never gave up, no matter how hard times got. I took a break, got fresh air, and sat back down with a clear mind and new inspiration. Don't give up because in the end I look back at amazing pieces I spent time and focused on detail with and am proud of what I accomplished. Having to switch this class to online because of the pandemic definitely made things tricky, but not impossible. I am grateful to walk away from this course knowing how to use more of the Adobe Suite, adding it to my resume for future jobs. The skills I now endure are ones I do not want to lose, only improve. This class taught me so much and I a...

Attached is the movie version as well as the youtube version incase it doesn't look as good on here! This process was one that made me appreciate animation :)  Enjoy!

For this assignment we had to create a visual of what you perceive yourself as from outside your body. I decided to split myself down the middle as a half angel have devil. I am told by not only my family but sometimes friends how much I resembled my zodiac sign, Gemini. This means I have the split personality of a devil and an angel. I had a lot of fun being able to use all the skills we learned for this assignment. It was nice being able to take free range with it and it was nice to focus on this for awhile, tweaking every little detail. For the devil portion I used the techniques from B&W to color assignment to change my eye, lips and jacket to enhance the dark vision. I tweaked the colors and outer glow/drop shadow on each side to match the emotion. I think this piece directly resembles myself from the outside in what I see in myself depending on my mood. I really enjoyed the GIF aspect and changing the amount of colors and dithering because it totally changed the look of the...

Multiplicity

Image
For this assignment we had to take 6 photos of ourselves and combine them into one image. We had to make sure the camera did not move while taking the photos so we could mesh them together. We had to interact or make a connection with ourselves in the photo. I had a lot of fun doing this and seeing the end product. I wish I stood by the fridge instead of by the stove for one of my poses, however I am still very happy with the way this turned out. It was overall a fun assignment and I love using photoshop and learning new techniques.

Somewhere

Image
For this assignment we had to place ourselves in a movie scene. For my movie I picked the popular Netflix movie To All the Boys I've Loved Before. I love this movie and I love the ending scene in it which is what I picked to place myself in. I love doing assignments like this because I love playing with the colors and trying to make it match to the scene. I had so much fun with this and I am so particular and detailed when it comes to cutting myself out of an image. It was nice to sit and focus on it and be in the zone. Attached below are the files of myself in the movie scene and the original picture from the movie.

B&W To Color

Image
For this assignment we had to take a black and white image and change it to different color palettes. For my photo I picked one from my dog Teddy and I at an event in my hometown called Dog Days. I will attach the original photo that I altered into black and white. For my color palettes I chose triad, analogous, and square. I had a lot of fun with this assignment and I think my favorite is the square colors. I think the orange I used for my skin does not look super orange and my purple eyes glisten and look good with the rest of the colors.   (Original photo I changed to black and white)  ( Analogous )  ( Triad)  (Square)

Poster Project

Image
For this assignment we had to make a poster of ourselves with a message. I took a photo with great contrast, me in a white shirt against a black backdrop. My face was serious and more poker like, therefore I wanted a more serious message. I chose a monochrome color scheme of reds to fill me in to enhance my message of "Don't let your mind take over your body". I really enjoyed this assignment as I did a similar one in high school with pop art inspired by Andy Warhol. This one was more fun to make everything precise with the words and font style. At the bottom of my poster you will find my monochrome color scheme I used.

Logo Assignment 3-D

Image
Finally, attached below are my 3-D objects in which I placed my logo on. This shows the versatility of the logo and all the places it can be placed. It shows how it would flow on a 3-D object and different ways it can be used. I used lighter colors to go with the beach and adventure theme.

Business Cards

Image
Here are my positive and negative business cards for the logo assignment. I love the way these came out and think they are very aesthetically pleasing.

LOGO

Image
Here is my finalized logo I chose for this assignment. I wanted something simple that could be represented in black and white. The simplicity in just the lines with the simple pop of color in the sun is what makes me love this logo. It is something that can be very versatile and resembles my side of adventurous. The concept behind it is between the mountains and the ocean, the sun always lies between us. This is personal to me because no matter the adventures I take in life, the sun always lies between me and my home and family in Connecticut. I am a very adventurous person who loves the ocean but lives by the forest and mountains back home so it resembles both sides of my current life adventure.

Mood Board

Here you will find my mood board and inspiration behind my drawn thumbnails in the previous post. These inspired my final logo for my business card and 3-D images. The inspiration words were creative, crazy, energetic, adventurous, and hardworking.
